Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Best food for Gsd

Hi all

My Gsd will be 2 in January, she has Royal Canin but the last couple of weeks seems to have gone off it so I am thinking of changing her food, but am unsure of what to change her to, so any suggestions would be valuable, she is 40kg and in great health. I always mix something wet with her food whether it be butchers tripe, fish, chicken etc.  I am scared of what I feed her as I know they can suffer with their digestive systems and I also lost a gsd to Anal Fruncolocis who was just 2 years old, so I am very causious of what I give her, so far she has no problems with her stomache, and I guess I am a bit panicy as this is how my other gsd started when he became ill.
Thanks in advance xx

Im no expert when it comes to feeding GSDs but do have a friend with 10 GSDs who shows and breeds and she will feed nothing but Arden Grange.
Maybe give AG a call for some samples and advice.

I personally feed raw and highly recommend it but a lot of my gsd friends use fish4dogs , they give samples so maybe worth giving them a call , they are very helpful.

I have a gsd and know quite a number who breed. Choice of food varies but generally a good quality complete or in my case and many others raw feeding. Raw feeding would always be my first choice but if not other popular ones atm seem to be fish for dogs good for sensitive tummies apparently arden grange burns and james wellbeloved  and royal canin. Just reread your post as you already add raw I woul;d move over to entirely raw. My 46kg 3 year old gsd currently has about 1kg per day different meat boneand ofal each day + some tinned fish

Sorry to hear about your 2 year old. I can appreciate it would make you very cautious and want to provide the very best you can.

I feed my 2 GSd's and my Spaniel Arden Grange. I have tried Fish4dogs too and they all love both foods. I also add extras every day with their food such as cooked chicken breast, mince lamb or beef, scrambled eggs, fish etc etc...
