My wee dog was out playing today with his mates and came in with his back feet cut in several places. They did a lot of running and stopping etc..so if you dogs like to run in the snow make sure to check them over..some of his cuts were quite high up the leg..

By the way it rained last night here so there was a layer of ice on top of the snow....and I think it was the ice that cut his feet.
He will be sore tomorrow and on lead only a few days till he heals..

Cheers

Yes the ice is like glass, the roads and pavements are dangerous to us and our dogs, had to be very careful today with my old girl, cant believe the roads aroun hered have not been gritted, comming home from work at 8am this morning the roads were like a ice rink, bet
A&E have been busy today.Hope your boy is better tomorrow x

Oh poor boy! I knew to wash feet if they'd been walking on gritted pavements, but I never thought of the ice cutting them! Luckily my lot are pretty hairy, though the American cocker does tend to get weighed down with iceballs on his legs. Glad our snow has all gone now!

poor boy, hope he is soon better. All mine are on lead walks only while it's like this, mainly because all bar one of our walks have watercourses or ponds along the way and they wouldn't hesitate to go for a swim after the ducks :(

Oh dear, hope he is better soon. Thanks for the heads up, never really thought about the ice cutting them.

Oh poor thing.

A friends dog has done just the same and is all stitched up too.. He is now been put on rest to allow it to heal..

My wee man wasn't so bad he needed stitching...but he was sore this morning...put him on lead at work for potty break time...It is now snowing like mad so he is not keen on going out...

I think he is feeling a bit better this afternoon....but will have to keep an eye on the wee feet just the same...

Was tempted to buy him ice boots but they are dear...

Cheers
