Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Fish skins?
- By carene [gb] Date 23.11.10 16:35 UTC
Having just removed the skin from the cod we're having for tea...I wondered whether I could give them to my labrador? She loves the commercial treats made from fish skins. What if I cut them up and fried them? Does anyone else do this?

I would give them raw - my dog had all kinds of raw fish and loves it :-D

OK thanks - do you cut them up into strips?

I usually do but that's mainly because I often mix it in with his kibble.

Brilliant, thanks! She always enjoys her tea but it will be extra special tonight. :-)

I'm probably a bit late for this but I'd either feed raw, if using immediately, or dry the skin in a very low oven to keep for a few days

Thanks, that's very useful information for future reference. However, I now have one very contented labrador......:-)
