Has anyone ever had a bitch operated on while pregnant? Does she lose the puppies. My friends GSD has had alot of dirrhoea and sickness for the last 3 days the vets think she may have a blockage. The only thing other that her food she ahs eaten is a pigs ear. Obviously her priority is her dog not the puppies.

It should not cause any more problem than having a blocked gut, that will kill if not attended to. Surely the vet will check that there is a problem before operating but I would not hesitate if there is.

Just make sure the vet is aware, if she's not obviously pregnant (or even if she is!).
