Hi,

Hamish is now into his 4th week of not eating properly and I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience with their dog? He has been referred to specialists and so far they cannot find out why he is out of sorts and off his food. He has had a huge amount of blood work done including test for Addisons (negative), heart/lung x ray, abdominal ultrasound. This all started off with a gurgly tummy so I thought it was just a bit of an upset tummy as he was bringing up some foam too. He has not been sick in 2 weeks and has no diarrhoea. He had a bad few days in week 2 when he was v lethargic and would not walk too far but he is now going for walks though he is not as sprightly as he should be. I would put him at 50-60% at the minute but not getting any better. I cannot work out what is going on. At one stage he had a slightly elevated temp and a tender tummy. He is only a year old so would be grateful for any ideas anyone might have?

Thanks alot,
Cheryl & Hamish

That's very interesting, I hadn't realised it was so prevalent in Westies. It is something we have been mulling over so I will mention it to my vet tomorrow. Thank you very much.

I meant to ask Starryeyes, does your own dog have a problem with IBD?
