There is a puppy farm being run in Leicester. The man sells every breed heard of and almost all of them leave with a bout of kennel cough. He advertises on Epupz and if you look on all breeds in Leicester you can tell his puppies as there normally cross bred in a white box absolutley terrified of him taking the photos.

Two of my cousins brough dogs from him a Pomeranian and a Bichon Firse all not pure bred. (I have no idea why they went to someone like this)

I need help to get his out of this cruel business as I dont know where to start.

There's a website called 'be puppy farm aware' that name and shame puppy farmers, you can forward the details on to them for a start.  There's not an awful lot you can do, even if he's breeding pedigrees and registering them with the KC, as long as he has the appropriate licences, and sticking to whatever guidelines he needs to, then it's an awful job trying to do anything about these people.  The only thing that will stop this kind of person breeding, is if people stop buying from them, and unfortunately, some people like to buy animals as though they were at a supermarket, with shelves full of stock to choose from :(

First you need to collect the adverts so you can prove there are more than 5 litters in any 12 months.

Then you need to contact the relevant Local Authority and check if they have a breeders Licence and for how many bitches.

Then if it is obvious that regulations are being breached (for example pups have to be identified etc), then ask the LA to act on evidence provided.

The breeding and Sale of Dogs (Welfare Act) 1999 refers: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1999/11/contents

Also the Trading Standards department will be interested if the pups were sold as purebred, and are obviously not.  Might be worth having a breed expert look at them and confirm they are not, rather than just being poor examples.

Of course he may be trading lawfully ;(

He may not be breeding them himself, either - all those farmed puppies bred in Ireland and Wales end up being sold on somewhere...

If that he is supposed to have a Pet shop License and is supposed to have pups with collars and tags with id details and records of where they were bred.

You could let puppylove campaigns know
admin@puppylovecampaigns.org

Also email the local council who under the freedom of information act should tell you whether they hold a licence to breed and/or licence to sell.

I have been reporting someone in the Lincolnshire area to their respective Council. Yes, they are licensed but are having numerous litters and many bitches are having two litters a year. This contravenes the Breeding and Sale of Dogs (Welfare Act) but the licensing officer is being very offhand with me. I know I am a thorn in her side but I will not let go. I have been on this case since about March and am still nibbling away at the Licensing Officer. In my opinion she is not doing her job and my next course of action will be to report her. After all, she has been made aware of the breach of license so therefore she is permitting this breeder to break the law. A puppy (Golden Retriever) from that kennel came to its new home and was so traumatised by being in a home environment it didn't urinate to two whole days. If the owner took it in the garden it just stood there, if the owner brought him back inside he just stood there. The people make me sick to the stomach in the way they tread their dogs and puppies. I also believe the pedigree to be fraudulent as she showed the puppy owner the father and yet the father isn't owned by her! Oh, and forgot to mention she and her partner breed every breed imaginable including Cockerpoos, Cavipoos and all the other concoctions. Mind you, all the pedigrees are registered with the KC!!!!!

Good !!! AlisonGold, Keep it up. Be a thorn in her side. These people make me sick. I wish the officers would do there Job. Very few do.
