Ow No my Grandmother has been and brought a Yorkie from an ad in the local paper with a DLRC membership. I told her to wait until my bitch has a litter and I will give her a yorkie but no she had to be inpaitent and go and pay way over price (£550) for one.

It is massive and is supposed to be 12 weeks, It's hair is harsh, and its parents have the same father.

GREAT GOING NAN

What's done, is done.  Here's hoping that she loves it anyway (I'm sure she does), and that it is healthy.

Not saying that this is good quality but I would think that £550 is cheap for a good quality Yorkie?

Around here if you don't care who you buy from you can easily find Yorkshire terrier pups for £300 or less. £550 sounds very expensive for what is essentially an unregistered pup.

I think it's very difficult to educate the older generation sometimes. :)

Oh nan! Let's hope she has a healthy loving pet now she's gone and done it. Not ideal but at least pup has a loving caring home

Agreed.  Even if sold as pet, as long as it is healthy.  Many KC pups from well known lines are far higher priced than £550.  I certainly paid much more than that for my boy.  Although I did wait quite a while for exactly what I wanted.  (Good mouth was one of the big factors!)

Oh well if she only wants a pet she probably won't mind the size, but I hope she's lucky with it's health and temperament!

Haha, silly nan :-)
As others have said i hope she is lucky and the pup turns out healthy and happy. Im sure she will love it and give it a great home, its just a shame she lined the pockets of what sounds llike an unscrupulous breeder.
