Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Vets Test
- By animal_magic [gb] Date 15.10.10 19:18 UTC
Hi I was adviced by a member of this forum to get a progestron(sp?) test done on my bitch so I know what day I should mate her on. However they also said that I should ask for it to be sent to indexx or somthing like this.

I rang my vets up and they say they have a premate test and its preformed in house?
What is this and is it reliable?

The Idexx test gives a far more accurate result than any Vet's testing that I've come across in the past.

This is one where there is a colour chart to compare with the colour in the test and it is good enough but not as accurate as a proper quantitative assay as at idexx.  It will have a 24 or so hour larger margin of error.

In some ways you pays yru money and takes your chance, the result is faster, ut less accuarate.
