Just back from last minute trip to vets.
Jack was panting and shivering and being very strange, I couldn't account for it at all.
So thinking that it would safer to consult the vet now rather than late on a saturday night...............
Vet can find nothing but a healthy boy, who is stressy!
He is correct, I just dont understand why..........
He has had a shot and is to be topped up as required or I see fit with adp.
Karen :(
Have you had high winds today? That can upset dogs sometimes. He has probably heard a strange noise that has upset him, poor boy.
My last GSD would get stressed at - Squeaking doors, high winds if we were out in them, anything being dropped next to him - like a box for instance, he would jump out of his skin :( and bizarre the office printer.
They can pant if they are in discomfort, but if he's been checked by the vet and is ok then...
Has there anything strange you can think off to trigger the stress? hopefully if it was just one moment that shuck him, he forgets about it soon, and settles again.

The weather could well be part of it. Also my girl is pestering him, perhaps, ....she isn't due in season for about a month, could also be a cause I suppose.
Poor baby, well he is almost 5 , but he is a big baby it's true.

I don't know what breed you have, is the breed renowned for being of stressy types?
All my GSDs have been known to be quite highly strung, sensative. Duke my current dog is probably the most laid back of them all, the only thing that upsets him, I've noticed since having him, is that if my ex partner and I were having an argument he would become very touchy and come around me nervous like, ears back, jumping up at me as if he'd done something wrong.

Aussie terriers....
I dont think they are renowned for it.....just this boy.
He has always been stressy, when football is on tv he finds it bad...races round the room up and down all over us, not knowing what do with himself.
This was for no apparent reason, I was concerned there was a pain somewhere, apparently not.
Lets hope it was a one off.

Is it the football that stresses him? or may be the excitement of the humans reaction to the game, cheering, cursing, perhaps he's over sensitive to this...

Spot on.....
He knows that if other half is here, that he is going to shout and get excited at the footie.
Also he favours OH to me when we are both here. But there was none on today....it was a rather sedate ryder cup viewing.
Karen
Keep your eye on him, and next time he gets over stressed try and notice what it was that brings it on.
Difficult I know to change our habits, just to save our dogs any stress, but I go out of my way not to argue with anyone in front of Duke.
I would like to see the reaction of your OH, next time a soccer game is on, and you ask him if he doesn't mind, for the sake of Jack, not to overreact during the game. That would probably cause a blazing row, that would send Jack into overdrive again. :)

It was a very quiet day...........golf on tv, peaceful unlike footie.
Nobody arguing, or any thing untoward at all.
He is a stressy dog, will bark and all things on the tv; he doesn't like it much.
When we are out walking he 'stress poos'. Thats my take on frequent pooing when out walking.( I had a lab who used to do this.)
Any how he is fine again today...silly boy :(
KAren
I'm glad he's ok today for you, maybe we just take too much notice/concern over them, I have been guilty of this myself in the past, but not as much these days, life can be stressful enough without adding extra concerns.
Sian.
