Yesterday over the field I hire, Shady is on the flexi lead and Kyiro, my greyhound is loose, when all of a sudden a rabbit bolts out of the grass in front of us and tears down the field. Shady shoots forward to chase it nearly pulling my arm out of my socket and where is Kyiro, he is gaily sniffing around a few feet away totally oblivious this rabbit has literally just run under his nose ::).
15 mins later we are walking down past a thick hedge and out bolts another rabbit. Again Shady spots it straight away and trys to chase, wheras kyiro yet again, although very close, misses the whole thing.
I wouldn't have wanted him chasing it but I thought they were bred to not miss these things ;D ;D No wonder he was useless at racing the fake hare was probably going too fast for him to spot ;D
Still he did perk up this morning at a small bit of plastic which he thought was a squirrel. Bless him I think I can honestly say he is one in a million

Kyiro, probably thinks seen 1 rabbit, seen em all. Were as put a cat in front of him and he would probably bolt straight afer it, cats usually get em going. :)

Funnily enough he actually sidles round cats as if he is scared of them.  A squirrel on the other hand really gets him excited.

I think it's the frisky tail thing, on the squirrel, mines the same. lol

My friend's greyhound runs the other way when a rabbit appears, shes terrified! LOL

He's not a sight hound, but he's fast enough and clever enough.... yet my dog prefers to herd the bunnies back into their holes. When he gets close to them, he slows down and lets them run home. I'm sure he thinks they make the field look untidy.
