I have just read this article in the Evening Echo - and I hope it reinforces the "never give up hope" feeling that owners of lost dogs have:-
Blackie the greyhound was reunited with her owners at a south Essex vets more than a year after she was stolen from racing kennels.
Blackie was taken to the Veterinary Hospital in Prince Avenue, Westcliff, on Tuesday after being hit by a car. But the men who took her in gave false details and never returned to collect her.
The 18-month-old was abandoned, but her story was to have a happy ending after vet Alastair England was able to identify Blackie through a tatooed number on her ear.
Her owner Freddie Mustafa travelled from Kent with her daughter yesterday for an emotional reunion and said she was over the moon to see Blackie again.
