I know that it was soon going to be possible to see who has been viewing your profile but when there was a link to sign up to be able to do this I wondered if it was a bit of a scam to get your details.  I couldn't see my daughter when she was viewing my profile so didn't think it was working. I managed to block this particular page and now see there is yet another about.   Can anyone tell me if this is indeed possible at the moment?  When you click on these pages (apps?? is that the right word) they ask permission to view your details.

I never look at them as they are scams.

I tried this because one or two of my friends had tried it...it doesnt work...or it didnt for me

I had tried looking it up on snopes.com but couldn't find anything.

i tried it on facebook,you then have to answer millions of questions and offers of free stuff,all i said was no no no and i am still getting millions of spam emails etc,leave well alone

There are many of these about on FB, they are in the main 'applications' and not part of the Facebook official 'toolbox' (for want of a better word) Some of the applications are harmless they don't really show you everyone that has looked at your profile and when, they act more as a 'counter' and just tell you who has viewed and posted on your wall the most.
    The other types are scams to generate lots of hits and encourage you 'recruit' more people by ensuring you publish to tell your friends.

All in all, there is not yet an 'app' that simply tells you who has looked at you and when.
The Facebook security page is a good point of reference, it highlights scams and gives good info on hoaxes etc....

When ever I get those scaremongery messages and profiles from friends, you know the "Be careful there is a spy ware in your account, go to applications and delete...Beware facebook is giving out your location.. blah blah blah" <- 9 times out of 10 when I check this out on the facebook security page I find it confirms a scaremonger hoax and explains what is what.

Don't HG - what a waste of time!  You get hooked into the game because there is always something new to save for - and you can't stop playing until your friends do!  Whoops time to harvest my crops before they wither!
Thanks for the security page info - will use it from now on.  The first time I saw one of these was when my daughter flagged it up, then I did, then another friend - and before you know it it has gone around the world!
