I was thinking of investing in a pair of those trainers that tone your butt. There are the MBT's , the Reebok and Sketcher equivalent, and Fit Flop now have a trainer style shoe . Although i am loving the Fit Flop Mukluks for winter !
Has anyone tried them and what do you think ?

Used the fit flops, summer and winter clog style ones, very comfortable, though dry your heels alot.
I know a lot of folk who use or have used mbts, they are mixed about them. You feel uncomfortable and sometimes queasy whilst geting used to them , but again they become comfortable.
I wouldn't say I actually noticed much help in the toning stakes but as they say every littl e helps.
I dont htink I would pay the huge prices though.............

I have MBTs and Fit Flops and, if you can afford them, I think the MBTs are much better. In my opinion, the Fit Flops are a cheap copy (didn't stop me wearing them all summer though!) (and aren't that cheap!).
If it were me and money were no object (I wish!) then I'd go for the MBTs. If you're looking for pretty summer sandals, then Fit Flops win purely on their design, as the MBT sandals aren't as pretty.
HTH :)

I've worn Fitflop sandals and clog ones for the last 18 months or so and they are fab. I bought them purely for comfort not for the toning claims the make. They are so comfortable and as long as they keep making them I'll keep buying them !. I hate toe post types so the sandals I have are the slip on type - not that pretty but at my age comfort is the priority !.

I wear the fitflop clog style ones for work and they are very comfy - stopped my feet aching and yes they do tone your nether regions :-)

I've got a pair of Skechers, they are very comfortable. I did cringe at the price as I'd never spent more than a tenner on trainers. Can't say they've worked miracles on my calves or posterior though but I don't wear them all the time.

Ooh Fitflop Mukluks I want some of those!!!!!!!!! I bought fitflop sandals over the summer - I bought the mens type that had velcro fastenings to keep them on and they have really helped sort out an achilles tendon problem I had. Don't like any sandals with toeposts at all so that rules out a lot of the fitflops.

I love Fitflops have been wearing them to work all Summer so comfy.
The only warning I would say is my chiropodfist that does hospital work says MTB ruin the bones in your feet but he is supportive of fitflops. Something about the balance ect... so ive stuck to my fit flops for the summer and wellies for this awful torrential rain today in Winchester.

The physiotherapist I saw about my achilees tendon problem was also very supportive of fit flops.

Thanks for all of your replies.
I have recently developed plantar fasciitis on one heel so after what a few of you have said i am going more towards the Fit-Flop trainer style shoe. However, yesterday i was in JJB and Reebok are now doing different toning shoes for walking and running so may also have a look at them .
Thanks again !

Ouch st Domingo hope you can get it sorted I know it painfull and seems to be getting more common

Thanks for that Whistler. I was tempted by the MBT boots, but they're very expensive. After what you've said, I'll certainly not be investing in a pair. :)
