I need some new leather boots after i've almost wrecked my UGGs in the wet ground at Richmond last week :-(

I love the style of long riding boots and the ones in the fashion stores are crazy prices for what i'm guessing probably won't be that great.
The problem I have is that I would like brown leather and no mix of materials on the boots.
The ones below are what i'm looking for, so a very slight heel. Problem is the ones below are black

If anyone knows of boots just like these in brown and not at a high cost, there are some coming in at £500, which it tooo much.. I'd prefer them to come from a hunting/equestrian type place if possible and I'm not wanting to buy off ebay for these.

M&S had loads of boots in at the weekend - unfortunately I am "gifted" in the calf department and have a high instep, so struggle to get my foot in them, let alone do the zip up!!!

They had some really lovely brown leather riding style boots for about £80.

These ones any good?

I have bought stuff from them before and they were fine with returns etc.

They also have these ones with a chunkier sole

OMG Tadsy , I am exactly the same , I've never thought of it as "gifted" but your right.
Its awful trying to get boots to fit me , I always end up in clarks for about two hours trying every pair in the shop and not getting the ones I "really" wanted!

hi suejaw, they're not exactly riding boots as we know them, but have you thought about Dubarry?

LOL I was just about to sugest Durberry. My OH bought me a pair 3 years ago (brown leather, small heal)Cost about £180,still look like new despite some hard walks with my moots.

Dakkobear I do like the first ones you've put up, going to have a good look at them later.

Dubarry, i've gone onto their website and can only find the leather/suede mix boots, which I do really like but not what i'm after right now unless someone wants to buy them for me?? lol

Not really thought of M&S, will have a peek at their website shortly.

As it is i've just gone and purchased these, norty me ;-)

Hoping that they last - the lady in the shop said her last pair were purchased 13yrs ago when she got her dog, she said when he dies she'll buy a new pair, but they are still going strong..

I did use gifted in it's loosest possible sense! It has become a bit of an obsession trying to find something that fits, I looked a bit manic in MArks at the weekend - picking the boot up, squishing the sides together and peering down the top! All the while trying to gauge whether I could manage to force the zip up. Then thinking that looks a bigger one, and getting the zip as high as my ankle before giving up!

I was told about a company called Duo Boots that cater for the larger (and skinnier) calf.

Tadsy the boot i've got cater for calf sizes in certain types of the Aigle boot. Worth looking into. Mine have a walking boot sole, neoprene lined and are waterproof..

Tadsy try the fuller fillies site if you are looking for wide calf sizes - their country boot has calf width up to 18" (Wide)and up to 20"(X Wide)
