I just wondered if anyone's dog has had this, my 3 year old retriever bitch went out into our fields this morning and eversince has been constantly drooling and I mean puddles of it, she also has been sick 3 times, food and a small amount of grass, we have mushrooms growing in the fields which she may have eaten, although I never saw her eat any, have taken her to the vets but he really didn't know why she was drooling, he checked for something stuck in her mouth and her teeth are all ok. Its a mystery any ideas would be grateful.
Thank you Barbara

I'd be back at the vets with some examples of the mushrooms out in the fields. Have a scoot around the field to see if there is anything else laying about. Has she been to the toilet yet? If so what where her stools like?
ETA: Certain mushrooms can be highly toxic and can kill.. I'd not be leaving her like this... I'd be going down the route that she has eaten the mushrooms and see how you get on.. http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art29907.asp
Would have thought that if it was a mushroom it would have been expelled with the grass? Do you think she could have picked up a toad? Make sure she drinks to make up for the drooling. Like suejaw, I would get her back to the vet for a second opinion if your worried. Does she allow you to have a good look in her mouth?
up date, the drooling has now stopped and she is back to normal, ate all her dinner and now she's asleep, I did look in her mouth but there wasn't anything, had a good look around the fields nothing unusual, its a mystery. I shall definately watch her tomorrow when we go out.
