Topic Other Boards / Foo / HELP - E111 Form

We are due to set off to take my daughter Charly to the airport in 2 hours for her holiday to Ibizia, but we can't find her E111 form anywhere.
Will she be ok without it?
She has travel insurance through the travel agent.

As I understand it, if she needs medical treatment she'll have to pay for it at the time and then reclaim from her insurance later. Could be wrong though.

It's now a plastic card that you carry if that makes it easier to know what you are looking for.

e111 forms have been replaced with e hic cards. so as ear as I know but check on this e 111 forms are not valid now. I know when my son went abroad a few years ago I had to apply for an e hic card for him.        sorry not what you want to hear at this time of night and I may well be wrong.       lea Xx

That's what I thought too Lea - but note that EHIC cards have expiry dates on them and you have to replace them every 3 years I think

Yep we got ours in June 2008 and they expire June 2012 so something else to be aware of :) :)

Don't forget that this doesn't cover you for repatriation should you not be able to travel home on your normal flight. Remember the lady that fell during her honeymoon and broke her back. She couldn't afford to be flown home and had to depend on the kindness of others. Proper travel insurance isn't that expensive compared to the cost of the holiday :)
