something occured to me tonight that ive never considered before.......if you nip over to france and back within 24-48 hours, can you have the tick/flea done before you leave UK and not have to do it in europe?

Do you find coming in and out by car far the easiest way? do you ever get much bother with them checking everything?

I had a nightmare bring a dog back from American flying and I am so put off just now attempting anything again :-)

Never had a problem. Came back from France on Saturday and spent about 5 minutes at Pet Passport Control with 4 dogs.

Anyone know if there will be vets able to do the worming/flea treatment at the World Show in Paris next year? I find the schedule and the website both lack a LOT in information.

I would imagine there will be.
All the shows we have attended have had vets&Stamps.
It is much cheaper to bring your own treatments and then you know at least they will not run out!
At WW this year, we brought the treatments, the vets stamped and we gave the tablets&tick treatments ourselves.
Could have easily walked out without administering as nobody was really checking if the treatments were actually given!

Thanks Noora, I shall bring my own to play safe then!

They had a raft of vets vetting in dogs at this years Paris Championship Show (the show that is back to back with world show next year) Every dog had microchip check and vaccination status in passport checked.
We made a quick trip so had passport done before we left Uk but vets were available at show. When using show vets I take my own meds, never had a problem. Some dont charge others a small fee (10 euros or so )

That is pretty organised stuff :-) never realised they did this even though it makes perfect sense.

They Vet the dogs in at the International shows (don't know if it is the same for other shows) so they have to have a vet there anyway.
