Yes, Padwax, it does work and should solve the problem. Some people just wet the pad but I prefer the Padwax

Some people use some soft drink from a Can as it makes the paws tacky.

I am also having problems with my dog sliding around on the floor - when we get back from a walk if it is wet (envariably it is!) she slips all over the place on the tile floor. I am so worried that she is going to hurt herself...

This reminds me of my Hamish's antics at training. The old floor he was fine on but when the hall was refurbished he decided he couldn't walk on it (acted like he was walking on ice). The club had to buy mats which went round the edge of the hall and he would only walk on them. When we had a grading test he had the place in hysterics. Firstly we had to do a recall diagonally across the hall. Hamish wouldn't come across the "naked" floor and proceeded to walk on the mats round the edge and then did the prefect present and finish. He did the same with the retrieve!
Even to this day, at nearly 11, if he makes a rare appearance he still does the same.

Yes, Gema this is a problem, I have a long runner at the door and have taught my hounds not to rush across the floor tiles, I find the runner dries the feet quite well but they still turn corner too fast unless you are there to tell them to steady up.

For this reason I have mats down where the dogs walk in.  they sell them cheaply at the shows the shop doormats, or runners.

I had to withdraw from a club that had a very shiny floor, and went to a club that has rubber runners around the edges, and I always insist on working on those, whatever the exercise.

my vets floor is lethal, everyone complains.I was told they were going to put mats down, but not so far.my poor old dog really struggles as shes not very good on her feet anyway.youd think a vets would have decent flooring.

Vets need slippery flooring to be able to slide reluctant patients into the consulting room ... !

I agree, I'd never get my dog in the vets without a good slippery floor!!! He normally helps make it more slippery by weeing on it too!!!!

He also slips in the house all the time, he's front heavy which deosn't help, you'd think they'd learn to slow down!

Took one of ours today, dugs his heals in and rode into the consulting room on the door mat.
