I am interested in what people have fed (only chicken or fish varieties) that has improved their dogs coat condition?

Fish4dogs - switched over fairly recently, all my (7) dogs now gleaming and also leaving less poo! Did have them on JWB before that, had been on it for ages, but their condition seemed to be deteriorating so switched brands.

What made a big difference was feeding oily fish. They have sardines once-twice a week and this keeps their coats in good conditions on top of a good food and bits of raw. Each dog and breed will react differently to foods and I have the same breed as Mrs Butler above!!

If your dog has coat trouble you might find that it settles now he is an only dog.  It could have been caused by, or exacerbated, by stress.

In the meantime sardines in oil are great, don't cost too much, and mix very well with kibble.  I buy mine from Lidl at 32p per can and divide between 2 dogs once a week.  I may not be the only one though as my local store has had no stock now for 4 weeks!

Have to agree with suejaw, sardines or tune in oil twice a week and you will see a big difference, i 2 have brindle boxers, one a dark brindle & one golden brindle, both their coats are gleaming.
I stopped using the oily fish last year (price was getting so much) but soon noticed their skin & coats were dull & dry so started using it again.

Was just looking on the Fish4Dogs website as I have heard good things about it from people in my training class (who use the treats as well as the food).

Boy is it expensive....the Sardine one is £51.50 for a 15kg bag....I think at those prices I'll just get the sardines from Lidl...and add it to the food I already feed...

Do you have to feed considerably less for those prices I would want it to go a long way...I look further and some of the 1.5kg bags are £8......

I fed Royal Canin and give a fish oil every other day.

Freeways - I get mine at Champ shows and only pay £20 for a 13kg bag of £25 for the 15 kg breeder bags. If you check on their website they have a list of the shows they will be exhibiting at. Also, their fish skin treats are much cheaper, ie 2 bags for £5.

As far as the food goes I can't recommend it highly enough.
