i think my german shepherd is pregnant she tied 2 weeks ago an her nipples have swolen an she also has some sagging around her nipple area....she's eating and drinking plenty, she's still as loving and caring as ever but today i noticed she keeps tryin to get my attention more than she usually would, i also noticed when she stood up from where she was lying there was a dark brown like jelly spot on the floor! should i be worried or is this normal?

if i were to see any discharge weeks after mating i would only b happy if it was clear/white as this has always proven to be a good sign of pregnancy for me in the past.

It may be fine but could also be worth a quick check, is there any smell?

You don't usually see any change in the teats until 4-5 weeks or so after mating.  Clinginess though can be quite a good sign. I wouldn't want to see any brownish discharge unless it's just the end of the season.

no there isn't any smell and she seems really happy, i am going to get her checked out by my vet but wondered if i could get any advice off here first

i did think it unusall to see that her teats had changed but when i googled it, it said they can start to change within two weeks of matin, so is brown discharge a bad thing?

it may just be a bit of old blood from her season, you just need to keep a close eye on things for any changes like, smell or your girl going off her food or drinking lots as a sign of possible infection.

If your unsure a check is best, better safe than sorry :)

hey thought i'd let you know that i took my girl to her vet today, she's got an infection from the the dog i put her with, she's on anti biotics and it should clear in 5 days if not then she's got to have a scan but these anti biotics won't harm her pups if she's pregnant......fingers crossed the infection goes and i'll get some gorgeous granddogs :) thanks for your help x
