I'm trying to find a more environmentally friendly way to dispose of my dogs waste. I currently bag and bin but even with bio degradable bags I don't really see the point of putting something that would naturally break down into a bag that will preserve it for years to come! Does anyone know of any environmentally friendly options?

It can be composted, (takes about a year) and I have done this as an experiment. 

To stop smells I covered it with leaves/ash from bonfire and ensured it couldn't get waterlogged.

I used the two wooden frames from a double bed.
