Can anyone please help?

I have an in whelp whippet bitch (this will be her second litter) who in all other respects is fit and well, but gave up eating at the start of her third week (which is normal I understand for approx. a week's duration). However, she is now well into her fourth week and still, unless we open her mouth and gently push it down or spoon feed her milk/Complan, etc. just will not do anything for herself. We do not want her to lose condition both for herself or puppies and have tried her with everything we can think of including roast chicken, bacon, eggs (hard-boiled and scrambled), toast, minced beef - you name it, we've tried it - as well, of course, as all sorts of dog food. The only thing she will take of her own volition is milk left over from a bowl of muesli which we humans have every morning. Even weak tea, usually her favourite, is spurned!

Suggestions please.

Hi guest, I had a Wolfhound like this, she was like it all through week three and four. She was actually sick first thing every morning. So your little whippet may well be feeling very queasy. Try feeding her later in the day, and have you tried Pilchards in tomato sauce? This often works with dogs that are going through a picky stage for one reason or another. Hope all goes well.

Have you checked her temperature, if it is raised let the vet look at her, Jackie

Have you tried cat food or even better kitten food
our one rottie does this and she will eat cat food, its perfectly safe to give a dog cat food but not a cat dog food.
I have also been told chicken korma, dogs love the creamy taste and eat it like they are starved :-)...though must admit its my fav curry too, with egg freid rice naan bread and a few chips yum yum Im hungry just thinking about it :-) :-) :-)

Try some enervite a little on your finger. It helps stimulate
them to eat. Keep trying is all I can suggest. Enervite can
be bought from any pet shop. Its a high calorie. plus vitamins.
Scrambled eggs, best chicken, minced beef.
