When a bitch is in season, would i have to keep my dog away from her thoughout her season, or is there only a certain amount of days to keep him away from her.

Bitches are fertile for part of their season, but the timing of this can vary with the idividual bitch and each season. usually the bitch will not tolerate the male in the first few days, but many will stand from day 3 to day 23. If you have both sexes keep them apart for at leat 3 weeks, and more like four. Once the genitals have shrunk down to a normal size you can usually be sure the season is over, but keep an eye on the pair of them for several days after they have lost interest in each other.
