I found this add on preloved when I was idly google searching for JRT x collies (thinking rescue btw not puppy sales)

how can someone hope to sell a dog to recoup losses for damage it's caused!!!

For Sale
1 yo border collie x jack russell bitch £120
Sadly due to unforseen circumstances we are having to sell our beautiful one year old boarder collie x jack russell girl.. She has lovely temperment and is fantastic with others except big dogs.. But would get used to them if introduced as shown before.. She has a habit which i have been unable to get her out of and that is chewing.. Due to her chewing an expensive item which isnt mine i am advertising her for £120. She is already microchipped, front lined, etc etc and already vaccinated on their yearly booster... I have found very little jack russell in her as she appears to be 90% boarder collie..

Well at least they are being honest I suppose, may be a bit more to do would help this little lady. Crossing two hyper types seems to be asking for problems they are bound to create some dogs that will need an excessive amounts of attention and thought provoking exercise.

Totally agree Nova - a JRT x collie is a cross likely to have the worst of all undesirable traits in a pet home setting!

Unbelievable!!! Do they not realise she's still a puppy - puppies chew!!! If she is 90% border collie then I would assume (maybe wrongly) that they aren't stimulating her brain enough and she's getting bored!!! Poor little mite. My 12 month old chews but I accept that's the way it will be until he's a bit older. Wouldn't dream of getting rid of him. Irresponsible to leave a high value item where the dog can get it!!!

How ridiculous! Wow it annoys me how stupid people are! Puppies chew! Thankfully mine are now out of the chewing stage as they are now 3 and 4 so my furniture is now safe (i came home one day to find my boy curled up in his basket with one of the dining chair legs!) but will still take and chew things that aren't usually there and are left lying around e.g they will have a nibble on shoes if they aren't put away and will rip up tea towels or dusters if they are left on the side

Also think border collies are renowned chewers.my grandma had a border collie x lab and she tore up 2 kitchen floors, a three piece suite and several curtains and this was when she was living with a very active retired couple who walked her loads and rarely left her!

I hope this dog finds an home that understands about puppies and their chewing!

Suppose any dog crossed with a JRT is likely to result in a dog with an unpredictable temperament, the JRT being a mongrel of a particular type so the cross is not a cross in the true sense of the word (being the cross between two recognised breeds) The terriers known as JRTs can vary from calm and domesticated to an out and out aggressive ratter. This would be fine in a home where working dogs are the norm but not the best choice for the domestic situation.
