My dad has just rung me to warn about dogs picking up poisoned bait in Blean and Rough Common woods, between Canterbury and Whitstable in Kent - as he knows I often walk my dogs there. Four dogs from Blean have been poisoned and at least one of those has died and I think it may possibly have been 3 dogs. The latest dog to suffer like this was yesterday but the owner managed to get the bait off him - looks like a flattened tennis ball but of a different material and filled with a substance resembling Weetabix- and took it to the vet when he rushed his dog there.
The vet is analysing the poison and my dad will get further details as they become available. The dog is on a drip and holding it's own at the moment so fingers crossed for a successful outcome for my dad's neighbour's dog.
Not sure if anyone on this forum lives in this area and walks their dogs there but if so please be aware of the danger and avoid those woods for now.
