One of our girls has been out of her 1st season for over a week now. and i noticed during the end of her season she was getting swollen nipples.
and they are still swollen, pink, and small swelling under the skin
we havnt let her get to any dogs, but we did put her in kennels for 3 days (we had a weekend away booked) and she stopped with her sister - with instructions to keep away from any dogs!! They are a good trusted small kennels and i trust they didnt let her near any dogs also.
Do you think she is maybe having a phantom?
im just a bit worried!!
we did have one of our dogs casterated about 3 months ago - he was the only "male" to be near her. but i was assured from the vet that he would be "clear" now?!
Im i just being paranoid!

its normal to get swollen nipples after any season. all dogs get varying degrees of phantoms, some you hardly notice, some make beds and nurse toys and have loads of milk. its worse around the time they would have given birth so dont worry

Their bodies do change after the first season normally. My girls 'develop' properly at this time. The teats do develop and don't go back to 'puppy size' and it's the same with her 'ladybits'. The season is just her hormones developing her body into adulthood.
