Well its still on for me and O.H to collect our new pupster tomorrow. He is all red apart from 4 white socks and white on the tip of his tail.It was going to be Denzel a cornish christian name, but having seen him and Copper is in part of his K.C name I like Cooper.Any thoughts.
- By Nova Date 24.07.10 17:31 UTC
Think you may find Cooper an easier calling name how ever as we all agonise about the name for our puppy and then almost inevitable change it within a few weeks so your choice of names may well become Coooo for Cooper and Den for Denzel in which case Denzel would be the better choice.

There now, bet that helps a lot :-):-):-)

I like Denzel :)
He could be Denny, Den, Denden or Denz to call him, much stronger and more direct than anything you can make out of Cooper or Copper, as Nova said :)

Plus it's Cornish!
- By Harley Date 24.07.10 20:23 UTC
I have a Cooper :-) so it sounds like a really good name to me :-) Just hope your wee pup doesn't take after my Cooper :-O :-)

We often shorten it to Coops or Coopey - he answers to many names :-).
- By jovigirl [gb] Date 24.07.10 20:40 UTC
I have a Cooper, my special needs Basenji lol !!!!!

Won't tell you what he answers to !!!! unrepeatable at times lol !!!!!  but his nick name is Scoops, short for Super Cooper !!!!!

I am sad enough to name all my lot after Rockers, so he's named after Alice Cooper and School is def out 4 ever coz he'd been expelled several times over by now !!!!!!  love him to bits !!!!!!
- By cracar [gb] Date 25.07.10 07:47 UTC
I like Denzel!  I've allready called him Den though....
Other idea ; Bill(as in copper=old bill?) lol.
- By bear [gb] Date 25.07.10 08:24 UTC
why not Red or socks as thats what he looks like, love the name cooper though.
- By suejaw Date 25.07.10 08:27 UTC

> why not Red or socks

I love the name Sox, I always thought i'd i'd have a dog with that name one day, but yet to have a pup who suited it..
- By briedog [gb] Date 25.07.10 08:53 UTC
copper
- By sillysue Date 25.07.10 09:44 UTC
Love Denzel, however if you want real Cornwall how about Kernow ( or of course Jethro !)
- By St.Domingo Date 25.07.10 14:12 UTC
What about 'Red' ?  I like it .
- By kirstz10 [gb] Date 25.07.10 19:33 UTC

And this is so important.  As only a dog person can understand!

I had wanted a boy called Cody for years.  While I was waiting for a male pup 3 years ago, I had already decided that he was going to be my Cody.

After 3 days I looked at him, and said "But you're not a Cody are you?  You're a Wilf!"  :-)

They kinda tell you don't they?  :-)

I love Densel, or Sox, or Copper....

With our family, our kids always named our dogs, so our first dog was called Spud!! Our next girl pup is going to be called Doris apparently......
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 26.07.10 15:50 UTC
Vote for Copper here also.
- By HuskyGal Date 26.07.10 19:12 UTC
*elbows way to front of queue for 'you're-injured-here-let-me-look-after-that-pup!!'* :-D :-P

I love them both, but my tuppence worth would be that Cooper has more room for alternating the tone in your voice during training < if that makes sense.

Have you thought of other variations of 'Red' or are the two names mentioned the only contenders?
- By MsTemeraire Date 26.07.10 19:41 UTC

I think the deed is now done, isn't it?

Somewhere, really can't remember where I saw it, did I read they now have two pups?  Denzel and D something Delilah, Delores, De mented I mutter, as I scratch my head and wonder if I imagined it after all !!
- By HuskyGal Date 26.07.10 20:45 UTC
You're right!
It's on Jude's 'in hospital and bored' thread! I really must try to get more time to read more threads Darn work, dogs, Man and life getting in the way ;-)
- By HuskyGal Date 26.07.10 20:46 UTC

With the exception of work perhaps the others are no real hardship eh?  I've read the odd good (very good) bit of news filtering through from your direction recently... :)
- By cornishmals [gb] Date 27.07.10 07:49 UTC
Kernow Is part of our kennel name (I tried to be clever and translated Cornwall snow dogs into Cornish )-the down side is no one can pronounce it,looks Polish not that I have a problem with this :) and if I have a litter the pups they will have to have short names.LOL.
- By cornishmals [gb] Date 27.07.10 08:11 UTC
OK, We now have 2 puppies.Yes I hear the screaming....2!!!!This is the third time we have had 2 pups at the same time,so now feel like an expert LOL.The only difference the big bald one (my other insignificance)is doing much more to help eg toilet training.3rd day and no accidents in crate and only one wee on the rug.So doing well. They have all gone to work including our elderly rehome with O.H today as my Dad is taking me to hospital, and my Mum is going withme.God I feel like a child instead of 45!!!!!!!!
We have chosen Denzel for the boy,a Canadian Eskimo Dog.He is completely dark red apart from 4 white socks and tip of tail and is 8 weeks. The Alaskan Malamute girl is grey /white and called Delilah. It will be Ann Allens last Malamute litter and those who know their Mals has Phantom Scout as a grand sire (sadly died in May aged 15).She is actually O.Hs girlie (this makes him even more likely to toilet train the pups at 3am and pick up all his valuables from the floor)
What is interesting is seeing 2 different breeds develope and interact together.Denzel who is 4 weeks younger is so much more confident and forward than Deliliah.
Just wish I could cuddle them properly :(
- By HuskyGal Date 27.07.10 20:23 UTC

> will be Ann Allens last Malamute litter

Oh *weep weep* I'm as jealous as all hell..!! Now Keeper, there's another dog I'd shove up my jumper and leg it with- soon as look at you!
Promise you'll send me some photos to feed my green eyed monster! :-D
- By goldie [gb] Date 27.07.10 20:35 UTC
Your other insignificance may want Delboy then lol

I must say I like Denzel and jeffro would too.
- By cornishmals [gb] Date 28.07.10 08:51 UTC
Will try to take some photos today, they grow so quickly. But she is really pretty. We already have her 1/2 sister and brother with us(they were 3 this month). She is so funny with Denzel but not as brave, but thats ceds for you.Ann has been brilliant over the last few years,I have learnt so much from her and her knowledge is fantastic.

I prefer Cooper / Copper (not sure which you meant) to Denzel.
