My Welsh Springer, Scarlet who is now 11 has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and has been prescribed Amlodipine. I think that it may be giving her some side affects. She seems lethargic and less interested in food and her joints seem stiffer that usual. In all like she is feeling under the weather. Because she has arthritis and we are having warm weather all of her symptoms may be arising from other issues as well as her age and her Glaucoma! Have any of you experienced unwelcome side affects from this drug? ( I lnow us humans can! ) Thanks

I take Amlodipine and did not notice any side effects but then I suffer from lethargy anyway so perhaps would not notice.

When I went on Amlodipine I did ask the doctor what side affects they had.  The only thing she mentioned was headaches to be honest, and assured me that they soon cleared up.

I had a blinder for the first 5 days, but they didn't continue.  I don't know if dogs get headaches though!
