why dont you just spray it with hammerite?

i would and thats how i do mine but this lady lives 50 miles away from me and is 73 so i think it would be easier for her to get it dipped

Try looking up "plastic coating" in telephone directory then ring around. If they don't do it, they may put you on to someone who does.
