Hi all of you GSP owners out their.
I have a fourteen month old GSP, I think he has just about done most if not all his height growing, he is around 24inch, in the last month or so he has started to fill out, does anyone one know how long it will take for him to fill out properly? he has very good muscle tone and is excersized around three hours a day. I feed him either Trophy Active 25% protein or Trophy Puppy 30% protein, and plain uncooked tripe which I buy in blocks of 400grams, he gets one block a day split into two daily feeds. Is their anything else I should do with his feeding rateim??
On a positive note he has just qualified for Crufts, so I have a good few months to get him looking in tip top condition.
Thank you.
Donna.

If he is anything like Munsterlanders ;-) he will probably need another year or two before reaching anything close to maturity. Don't try to rush him, he will get there in his own good time. You can actually do more damage trying to rush his development. :-(
HPR's as a whole tend to take a while to mature, but they keep doing well for many years to come. I would expect him to fit in with the 'adult' dogs when he is about 3-4 years old. So long as he fits in with his age group and doesn't look too out of place (either too mature, or not mature enough :-) )then enjoy your teenage phase. :-p
Well done for qualifying him, it's a good feeling, isn't it? :-D
ETA: Do you know what other dogs from his lines are like? Do they mature early, or are they late bloomers? This will also have an effect on how quickly he matures.

Our Vizsla is 21months, and looks immature....he still looks gangly :) also agree that HPR's mature much later, especially in mind!! LOL
Enjoy him :)
Well done on qualifying for Crufts Donna :)

SLF,wanted to say, big well done for qualifying for Crufts, and the photos of your boy are lovely.
Donna

My GSP has just hit 4 and I would say it was only in the last 6 months..But I would say he is late as his brothers seemed more mature than him (i see two of them regularly).
