This really got my goat today :-(

Family member has invited and let in a friend with their bitch puppy. No bother I think, bitch is 7 months old and a small breed dog.
Bitch is put on the ground and it sets all 3 of our dogs into a frenzy, they just won't leave her alone and she is running around trying to hide under the kitchen table screaming away. None of our dogs did anything to her apart from being over excited and really wanted to get to her - she was obviously smelling very nice to them.
Finally get my dogs away when i'm then told she is just coming out of her season :-(, oh dear lord.. Luckily my boys didn't get near her in that respect and they behaved towards each other in a decent manner(phew).

I then get told she plans on breeding her, apparently the 'breeder' has a stud lined up for her after her 4th season!!. Its getting better right?? I then go into very nicely about health tests, money set aside for all vets and emergancy vets bills, all the whelping kit and more. Also said that she could loose her bitch as its a risk we all take - she didn't like hearing that.
Now tell me when at 7 months you know that a small breed is worthy of being put into a breeding programme?? I personally can't see her wishing to take all her annual leave and unpaid leave to raise a litter, she also lives in a flat with no direct access to a private garden :-(..

Oh the best bit, i'm then told she is not very well and has a bad cough(Not KC i'm assured), mine are vaccinated, but still. No she has lungworm :-(... This bitch has been running off the lead today in packed areas of other dogs and my sisters dog apparently was also trying to hump her.

Poor Bitch....

This lady doesn't show and been trying to check on breed results and also general ch show results and the breeding line is nowhere. I don't know for a fact that breeder doesn't show, but get the impression that she doesn't.

Oh and just checked the breed standard and the coat she has is wrong as I did say to her about it being like candy floss and very soft and was told that is what the mini's coats are like. - knowing the giant ones have a course coat I checked and yep all 3 have a course coat.
Harsh, wiry and short enough for smartness, dense undercoat. Clean on neck and shoulders, ears and skull. Harsh hair on legs. Furnishings fairly thick but not silky.

:( :( :(

Bet your tongue's half bitten off! :(

I can tell from the description what breed this is and have to say, even in show bred dogs there seems a LOT of variability of type.  Have seen more poor ones than good ones :(

I'm meeting more and more idiotic people as the summer goes on, madness

How are you getting on Dill with your mishap?

Waiting on a doctor's call re pain relief, if he'll prescribe more Co-codamol I'll at least be comfortable.  Trouble is, around here they seem to be more concerned about addiction than being in pain :(  though I hardly think that low dose codein is going to cause a problem :rolling eyes:

Dill Co-codamol is not prescription. :)

Ahhh but in Wales it can be free!  and I haven't seen any for sale in the chemists?

Actually, I'm hoping there's an alternative to it as I really don't like taking it  ;)

You have to ask for it as it is kept behind the counter -even the supermarket chemists sell it. :)

Co-codamol is not prescription.

There are different strengths, 8/500 is sold in the chemist, whereas 30/500 is prescription only and much stronger :-)
