Topic Dog Boards / Health / Is Rimadyl also called Carprodyl?

Does anyone know if Carprodyl is the same thing as Rimadyl under a different name?

Thanks!

Don't know if it's just a different name, but it is certainly a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug .

Rimadyl keeps changing its name. It was called norocarp for a while but this was changed (I think) because its name was very similar to an antibiotic called noroclav (synulox) and mistakes in administration were recorded.
Its now called carprofen.
Found this;
Carprodyl® is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the safe treatment of inflammation and pain relief in chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system (canine arthritis, osteoarthrosis, orthopedic) and soft tissue surgery in dogs. Carprodyl is offered as chewable, brown oval scored liver-flavored tablets, containing 25 or 100 mg of carprofen.
Hope that helps!

yes it is the same as rimadyl , carprodyl , carprogesic and norocarp all the same just made by different companies , as a licence expires on a product it leaves other companies free to bring out the same product but with a different name and obviously cheaper so they can grab more of the market

Have used Rimadyl in fact still do, have used a couple of the others but they are not as palatable although the results seemed the same.
