Hi all,
This is my first post, but ive been a lurker of this site for a while. Im just after some general opinions on a situation im possibly going to find myself in soon.
Basically im currently living in the Midlands and have a 5 year old springer spaniel whom i rescued and have done alot of work with since getting her three years ago.
I work 30 hours per week, mon-fri. I walk her for 1.5 hours before i leave in a morning, then my mom comes round at lunchtime and stays for 2-3 hours, then i take her out again when im back from work, usually about 4:30. This situation has worked well, and my girl is happy and doesnt seem to have any problems with the situation.
Now for my problem, Ive had an interview for my dream job in London and im due to hear next week the outcome. Of course if i get it then it will mean i will have to move to london with dog in toe.
However i only rent, and due to london prices im going to have to go from a modest house here to probably a one bed flat. Sorry im rambling.
Im basically looking for anyone who lives in london with dogs and works and seeing how it works for you.
My plan is, if i get the job. That i will continue my girls routine, however without having my mom around im thinking im goin to have to hire a dog sitter for during the day which is fine if i can find one that will just keep her company for a few hours daily. Im hoping i will be able to find somewhere to live that is within walking distance of a deccent park.
Rehoming her is not an option and id rather quit the job and move back home than do that to her. Im just looking at workable solutions the problem.
It probably wont happen anyway, but this is my dream job so fingers crossed!
So any experiences and thoughts are welcome, sorry if ive gone on a bit.

I live in Greater London so it does depend on where in London you live, but most areas have parks and dog walkers are plenitful. Just make sure you get some references and check insurance as there are a lot who really should be doing it and don't have insurance.
Ive been looking at Battersea, and Hampstead as possible locations to live. They both have good areas for walking and are both comutable to work . . .should i get the job.
I vaule your point regarding dog sitters, and by no means would i leave her with just anyone. I would deffinatley be making sure that they had gone through the proper channels etc.

hi there i live in hammersmith, but id imagine battersea and hampstead you'd be spoilt for choice re; dog walkers/sitters . loads of open spaces for free running etc.i dont personally use any but pretty much most seem reliable.i'd go for the ones who take lesser amounts of dogs out at any one time rather than the ones who seem to just open the back of the van and let loads pour out.mind you i think theyre introducing laws on how many they can take out in one go now. my dogs love to go along the towpath down the thames,as i live 20 seconds from it,apart from swerving the joggers its lovely.hope it works out, as a londoner myself,my dogs have never known any different, but it does mean they mix with all kinds of people, dogs, joggers, kids etc on a daily basis.
