we need help, my mams dog is around 13/14 now, hes starting eating stones, pebbles. is this a sign of either dementure in dogs or is it an indication that something is wrong with him, HELP would be great thanks sami

Could be sore teeth and he is grinding due to pain? I would ask the vet

If the dog is swallowing the pebbles and stones it should be gotten to the vets asap, as the stones can build up in the stomach and cause blockages. They can also pass into the bowels and rupture them. Both things would result in the dog being in absolute agony.
