Does anyone have any experience of registering an affix/suffix to the end of their's dog reg name

It's just I registered my dog with the ikc with no problems a few months back, but now having added with no problem my kennel name with the uk kc recently, I am trying to get it changed with the ikc, but they are telling me that I need a letter from the breeder to confirm. 

The ikc are not that helpful if i'm honest (akin to getting blood out of a stone!) and can't seem to find any rules or reg regarding it anywhere :0(, just wondered if anyone had done the same and what their experience was.

I do have a lovely lady from the kennel club on the case but just thought i'd try my luck here in the meantime

Not sure. I had already added my affix to the end of my KC reg dogs before obtaining IKC registration and a letter from the breeder was not requested.
