I am moving house and shall have more space than present. I have always wanted to have my own ridgeback but I have a young child and a 7 year old collie x lab bitch. Iwould like to find out more about the breed and it's suitability to family life before going any further. Please help

I have a friend who is owned by 2 ridgebacks, as with any breed a lot depends on how you bring them up. Hers are friendly, very loyal and loving, but they are hounds and not the easiest to train, and do run off if if they catch sight/scent of wildlife, she has lost hers for up to 2 hours when they chase deer.
