Over here puppies are shown from 6 months up but am I right in thinking that people start showing pups in Europe from 4 months or am I going barmy and making it up?
I have shown one of mine in a baby puppy class (4-6 months) when I lived in Gemany. Not all shows provide this class usually breed club shows or some of the single group ones.
Over here in the IKC breed club shows you can show a baby puppy in 4-6 mth classes I am doing my first one in July and am a nervous wreck i bet the puppy wont be though!
Hi, here in France puppies can be shown from 6 months, however in breed specific shows they offer a baby class where they can be shown from 3 to 6 months. These shows are usually smaller so not much hanging around and the pups have a good chance to socialise with other dogs and have fun whilst learning. I'm off to our regional breed show this Saturday and am looking forward to seeing some of the babies!
According to FCI rules, at a championship show, you'll get an unofficial puppy class, for puppies from 6-9 months. (at some really large shows, you'll not get a puppyclass at all, which is a good thing, IMHO) At breedclub shows, you'll sometimes get baby-class, which is 4-6 months, as well.
