Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Is my bitch in pup?

Took my bitch to stud 48 days ago. Have ahd her scanned at the vets and they said she not in pup. Yet she is eating more, been sick, sleepy, and wants to be on her own in quite area in the house. Could she be in pup? The stud dog is fertile and the tie seemed to last for ages.

She may be in pup..scans can be incorrect, which they normally say when the scan is happening. It may be the case that there is 1 or 2 pups(not knowing the breed in question).
Some pups in my breed can sit behind the rib cage, I have known scans to claim the bitch will have 3/4 pups & she has 5/6 pups.

Hi she is a medium sized breed. she went all cuddly now she seems to want to be left alone. and sleep. When she had 1 scan I was told her glands around the nipples had started to develop.

At 48 days a lot of bitches don't actually look pregnant, as they carry up high under the ribcage and pups can't be felt.

I agree that scans have been known to be wrong, so yes, she could be in pup.

Not allowed to say what breed, as it could be interpreted as advertising.

I totally agree that they are members of the family before anything else.
