Pork can carry tapeworm, although from an earlier post on this forum, the majority felt that modern farming practices had pretty much stopped this from happening.

I don't bother with pork, simply because I get a very good supply of chicken and lamb, chicken imo are the best raw meaty bones to feed the majority of the time, as they have the best nutritional range, including omega 3.  I also don't bother with either pork or beef as the bones can come from much older animals, meaning much harder denser bones that may wear down teeth that bit more quickly, particularly if fed regularly.  Chicken is softer, and lamb, is (obviously) from a young animal.  It also helps that both the chicken and lamb supplies I get are from a local factory/butchers, and are either cheap as chips, or free (my favourite price)!

I also feed raw and give pork all the time, mince, heart, leg, ribs anything. I also know plenty of other raw feeders who also feed pork :)

introduce new meats gradually, one at a time until the dog gets accustomed to it. Sorry if you already know this!
It depends on what you can afford. You can go to the supermarkets and get some joints of pork reasonably priced, and just cut off the meat. Pork heart is the cheapest and that is usually what I get

the first week we gave chicken second week we gave lamb and we are in our beef week, she is getting on really well, when we have been ending a week we have added things such as blended veg (only once a week tho) and been given bits of fruit, but has started not to eat fruit without live yogurt (picky) we have been going to the butcher as her has been doing us deals :) do you have any other tips??

If you pm me your email address I'll send you the rough feeding guide I use for raw feeding.  In with blended veggies I put in a few other things, such as turmeric, apple cider vinegar, dried mint, etc, all have very good uses, promote joint problems, or deter unwanted passengers for example.  The guide explains it all in detail.

My dogs raw diet doesnt include fruits or veggies, so I cant help there. But it sounds like she is getting on well!

you shouldn't mince the bones as its what naturally cleans there teeth - i was worried about the bones myself at first, but there is nothing to worry about they get through them like pork scratchings. can't remeber if i have written it on here or another topic but one rule to remember is anything grown above the ground will soften the stools and below will harden. if you pm your email add i will forward it too you - i use it for ideas as weights are not right for my dog

I feed raw pork regularly. Pork ribs are one of the few meaty bones that my fussy Newfie will eat so they're a regular feature of her diet.
