Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Three Counties

I have entered my dog for Three Counties on Toy Day and posted-I did not get proof of posting. Entry did not arrive.
I have phoned the Post Office but have not had any success. Printers have not got entry either.

Have tried to tell officer (entry sent to) of my mistake and unless I have proof of posting or RD I am not able to go.

Sent cash with the entry form-silly me, I know I should have sent RD or got proof of posting.

I do not know of anyone with proof of posting-however this could be classed as cheating if i borrowed.

So what do I do?

You have to accept that either

a) if you do go and win any placings then you will be disqualified from those placings.
As you have no KC accepted evidence of entry made.
b) that you don't go and thus avoid an embarassing situation re the above.

Either way there will be nothing that you can do to get your entry accepted now.
As you don't have the KC accepted forms of proof of entry.

Lesson learned if you do postal entries ALWAYS get proof of posting & you can submit
a SAE/postcard which is returned to you when they have your entry.
Also would never send cash in the mail get a postal order or if you have a good friend give
them your cash and get them to write out a cheque for you. Much safer.
Or if they have a card do an on line entry and then you get instant notification of entry.

I can only echo what Boxercrazy has already put.

As a breed club secretary, I was always surprised that people still send cash with their entries, even though it says on the entry form to only send cheque/Postal Order!!

Lesson well leanrt ALWAYS get proof of posting.

I wish i got that far for the show.  Tried on line no such luck, tried to e-mail no shuch luck, tried tophone no such luck, lol.  guess I'm not meant to do this show.

If you used someone elses proof of posting, you have to be sure they would keep their mouth shut.  I understand your frustration, only you know that one.  if you did post it, i might be inclined to use it and learn from the experience.  I think proof of posting says who the poster is though.  without getting one out unable to check.  I didn't get one the other week for a parcel and panicked like mad, beacause they could say did not receive it and it would have been a lot of money.  now I never forget.

My proof of postages don't have any where to fill in who sent it, just the post office stamp from where you sent it from, i live in the IOM so could never cheat & use some one elses lol But i always always get one, its free & could save me alot of bother one day!

if you give Joy a ring at cidweb she will give you the entry figures. Beardies are 149 + 3 NFC (subject to slight change)
- By Lexy [gb] Date 27.05.10 14:07 UTC
My pas came today also, it would be quite good if they had included a summery of the entries, even if it had only been the breed/s you have entered.
- By Gemma86 [gb] Date 27.05.10 14:28 UTC
If you email joy.robins@cidweb.co.uk & ask for the breed entry figures you will get them, i got my email back in 5 mins :)

- By weima [gb] Date 28.05.10 09:54 UTC
Why don't they publish the figures to save everyone emailing them? Seems simple to me :)

Entries on Dog World site (don't think it's restricted?).

Very low in my breed. People are being very choosey this year, I think.

Many thanks Lily Mc

My breed has 147, which I think is on par with previous years??
