hi jloub again we have had quite a day of fighting between pups all pups involved 1 pup seems to be getting the most injuries to ears etc as l watch them l have left them to fight it out but they just dont let go of each other l have thrown water on them to stop it but it dont work my other dog who is a collie also tried to stop it by pawing the pups which did not work the mum of pups just stood and watched all pups seemed really shock up and frigtend by this but they all keep doing it mum and dad both really good temps as l said before they are black and tan terriers please help not sure what l should be doing
From your last post did you not say these were 8 weeks old, isn't it time for them to be homed? They are not toys but terriers so time to be off I think, this is probably why, as they get older fighting gets rougher, if not domesticated they would be fighting for the best pieces of meat etc by now.
When do they go to their new homes jloubs?

hi end of this week all going to new homes except 1 which l am keeping my self
Can you get any of them homed sooner, in your position I would, will they be 9 weeks this next weekend?
See if you can get any earlier collections from more local people, it is better to pace out the litter going, as the numbers dwindle down the inner fighting will get less especially if you can have the more aggressive or the one which is mostly picked on collected first.
I would just pick up the aggressor/s and remove him/them for a while from the rest of the litter, can you put a divider up to group them? There is usually an instigator which starts the others off, distract with other play or just remove away from the others, your going to have to seperate them, you really can't have bloodied and injured pups on collection, I think it is the best way to go.
The pup that is picked on give more one to one time too, if all the litter are starting on him, it may be best for him to spend time with you and your family instead and then be left with the less aggressive littermates for supervised play.
They should be fine once it is dark to be left, but your really going to have to stay with this litter and supervise as much as you can, then step in to seperate if anything starts.
I feel the main problem is they are over 8 weeks now and a fiesty breed with very strong characters.
Some breeds even as young as 6 weeks can be very competitive, this litter obviously is just that, not a lot you can do to stop it, so don't beat yourself up none of us know what characters our pups will have you just have to manage it. :-) And get the litter numbers down as fast as possible now.
Agree, if they are old enough reduce the size of the pack asap. Their parents have great temperaments and so will they. Its just they are in their own little pack at the moment and establishing their place in it. Some pups strutt, some pups grumble and some pups fight and mean it and dependant on the breed can fight really rough. When mine have started I've split the fights up, just so they know that I can. They seen to have short memory spans though, within an hour they can be off again LOL
