Hello
Please can anyone tell me of the experiances of microchippng litters?
Would like it done at home if possible. How much trouble is regarding the paperwork to the new homes etc? Also how much should I expect to pay and is it best to leave it till 8 weeks?(Terriers)
Thanks joelol

I have my litters done at about 7 1/2 weeks, but they are setter sized dogs. I have always taken the whole litter to the vets in cages in the back of the car. This way they also get a vet check at the same time. I think I was about £25 per pup, but it was 3 years ago. The first litter I took weren't in cages and they decided to leave little (or not so little ;-) ) parcels in the back of the car, meaning they need a bath at the vets, the car needed a quick clean, and they had to be re-bathed at home  That's why I now use cages :-p So much easier to clean, and the pups were a lot happier.

My cockers are chipped at 7 weeks, a friend is a qualified micro-chipper, she chips them, then leaves me the paper work to fill out on the day the pups leave, I then send one copy to petlog the other to her and the new owners also get a copy.

Thankyou didn't know how you'd sort out the paperwork for one thing

Friend I know chips my kittens and she does it for £10 each, she will do dogs too at the same price. Both of mine are done from the freebies given out at Crufts!
