Well have been home from hosital since Sunday had a vertical cut hysterectomy...and feeling slightly tender and that as would be expected, in operating room for 5 hours....and rough recovery....but home now.

Anyhow this is my little feel good story.
Sal is being so gentle since I got home its lovely...but I knew she would be she is my perfect dog......what happened this morning was I dozed off in the living room (still sleepy really quickly) and the next thing I heard was my name being called; Sal had decided no one was getting near enough to wake me she just admitted low growl, when my brother in law came into the living room to see if I wanted anything as soon as I roused she was fine again....maybe she sensed my weakeness and decided she is defender...well for now. Stu (BIL) just did not want to risk coming any closer although he said she recognised him she just seemed to be saying " Hey I know you're okay, you mean no harm, but she (I) is not too good at the minute and I am looking after her " he was quite choked she was so gentle.....she he said seemed to know she should move when told but held her ground....my guardian angel. With a Staffie smile.....

Nice to be back too, gently gently with a sleep in between.

Bless her, she is looking out for you. All you need her to do now is housework and learn to cook some meals :)
Hope you feel better soon.

Well they do call staffs Nanny Dogs don't they, she must have read about it somewhere.

Take care of yourself and don't overdo things, my Sister had this op and overdid things as soon as she started to feel better. She paid the price and took much longer to get over the op.

Don't go lifting anything!

Did not lift anything heavier than a cup and hey ho....Just back home from hospital had my staples out at 3.30 Friday at the practice nurses; and at 5.30 I was winging my back to hospital via emergency ambulance, my wound had split right open about 10cm...of the 12cm...was open.......spent Friday night and all day Sat till 7 this morning in hospital had the wound resutured proper stictches to be removed Monday week, at the hospital. bit painful under a local got wide spectrum antibiotics, and some pain relief.

Not feeling brilliant but also not feeling rotten. Spending the day in bedroom, now I am out of hospital.

Not what you want having you stomach split open and have to hold it
together day 10.......apparently it is not uncommon but not ususal.

But I did everything they told me but it seems one of those things....

Thanks all.

I have "promised" to try and heal better this time....the scar may not be as neat but hey I can claim it as a mad politician attack ;) at the ballot box.

hope you are feeling better soon . Had an emergency hysto years ago so can sympathise ...have a extra pillow to place across your tummy helps if you need to move up the bed , sit up or cough .

just lots of sleep and rest for you my girl :)
