My daughter and her partner are getting married next month and as they already have a home together I am finding it very difficult to think of a suitable gift.
A few months ago they lost their gorgeous staffie. She really was one of those dogs in a million and they both loved her very much, she was their baby. I have had a thought about having a picture of Lucy put onto canvas as a wedding gift, Im sure they will both love the picture but I am worried about whether this is an appropriate wedding gift. What do you think?

This is one of those presents where you need to know it really is what they want, as it is very personal.
I know I am a real fusspot everything has it's place and my home is set up to flow and look symetrical with pictures and paintings all in specific places so if someone gave me a painting out of the blue even of one of my beloved animals, there would firstly have to be a place to put it where it wouldn't look odd, I would probably panic at where it was going to go and maybe even begrudge having to take down a painting I already had so as not to be rude and put it up. My home is my castle and I like to decorate it and chose the things in it.
If it is something they want and have spoken of before they would absolutely love it to pieces, really love it. But if it isn't it could be the biggest boob.
To be honest I would have to ask your daughter first. I know you want it to be a surprise but it is just so personal. Christines suggestion of a vase with the dogs portrait I think is a much better one if you want to make it a surprise, vases can be put anywhere and if you included an engraved message too it would be even more special.
As Miss 'Play it safe', I would go for the vase, or just give them some money. :-)
Sorry Christine you didn't say a vase did you? Actually one of the lasered 3D crystal blocks would be lovely not sure if they can do that from a picture though,.
