Topic Other Boards / Foo / Human Weight - How we all doing?
- By Whistler [gb] Date 20.04.10 07:53 UTC
Me again, now Whistler is on the mend Im on my weight kick.
Im down 6 stone 1lb and I have 8lbs until my weight is in the accepeted range (according to BMC).

Next week after 26th April I start 12 weeks management which introduces all different foods and I have purchsed a diet plate for Colin & I to monitor what we eat without counting calories. Im also (at last) a size 14!

How are you all doing?
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 20.04.10 16:14 UTC
I'm putting on the weight nicely thank you ;-) Actually, I think I probably should be losing it, not gaining it now  I was 6 1/2 stone a few years ago, but think I must be closer to 10 1/2 now :-p

where did I put that chocolate cake????

Doh!
Fancy mentioning the unmentionable!
I still haven't been on the scales.................each time last year that I saw an anaesthestist pre - op ( 4 ), I paticularly asked him not to say out loud my weight as I really didn't want to hear. When I hear then I will have to deal with it.
My dress size has gone up to an 18..................

Whistler you must feel great. You've done fantastically.

I have lost 2.5 stone since I started and am averaging a loss of 2lb a week.
It's coming off slowly but surely and I have now gone down a dress size so I'm thrilled.

I have a long way to go yet and I hope to reach my final goal in November. Still it has taken years for me to gain the weight, so 10 months to lose it seems more than reasonable.

After stalling for a few months, I've found my motivation again (apparently it was in the gym...it's always the last place you look, isn't it? :-D) and I've now lost over 5 stone.  I'm staying off the scales for now at my Trainer's advice as he has set me up with a weight training programme and has warned me that the scales will show an increase, or not as big a loss as I'd expect because I'm building muscle and it weighs heavier than fat.  But my clothes are telling me that I'm still losing inches so I'm happy enough for now.

Well done "we" all. What we do now is walk the dogs more often in the sun and get out the salads.
Ive dropped from a size 22 to a 14 and I can wear all 14's so M&S is a bit roomy and Next ect fits fine. I am about 8lb adrift from my ideal weight (top end) so i want to drop under 12 stone (Im 5'9") Luckily being tall my ideal weight is more than smaller people!! Only thing I had going for me.

I started in October 2009 and finish the loss bit on 30th April going into 12 weeks management course.

Tonight it all dress up for an awards evening so Im looking forward to the photo's rather than hating them!! OH is up for a business award.

Keep going and lets check in again in May!!

Getting married in 13 weeks time and need to drop some weight!! ahhhh

I find this thread a real comfort as I realise Im not alone in my weight battle. I have lost (and gained) weight 3 times over the years twice reaching my goal weight as well as embarking on diets only to fail within a few weeks. My weight seems to be linked to how Im feeling emotionally as when Im stressed I eat for comfort and I reward myself with food.

Over the last 6 months or so I have not been well and my weight has soared and despite my daughter getting married next month I have not been able to set my mind to dieting with any success. I am so angry with myself but, although not happy, I  have accepted that this is how I will look for the wedding.

When reading other peoples stories I actually find that I can empathise with people who are struggling, admire those who whether over weight or not are happy with who they are (I would love to feel like this) and be encouraged by those who are winning the battle.

Keep up the good work everyone.

I realised talking to a mate fron USA that the last time I wore size 14 jeans was after my son was born in 1985! Falling pregnant again (planned) I lost that baby and was so upset I never got the weight back off. Second baby, divorce, cancer, various deaths in the family ect ect... so 20 odd years later im slim again.

The moral 1. Its never to late. 2. Get the right diet that suits you and your life style.

But the real challange I suspect is keeping it off.
