Hi
Hope that can have some advice re this....
We have good friends that caravan at shows with their motorhome (lucky people!), as we don't have the luxury of having a caravan or motorhome, we are thinking of going with a tent, they said that we can use their electric etc We are thinking of staying over at Bath
As we've never done this before, I have a few questions, are there shower/toilet blocks to use on site, would it still be the £40 to "caravan" even though we are "tenting", if we didn't arrive at the same time as our friends who we would like to pitch next to, would they be able to save us a space next to them.
We have 2 saints, and a van they are happy to sleep in, we will try and best to squeeze them in the tent with us LOL.
It is really feasible to stay in a tent for potentially 5 nights, or are we being ridiculous!!, we have only tented once in a 3 man tent with our 1st saint, and it kind of put us off a bit LOL, what things is an absolute must to take, ie do we take a blow up mattress, and what about cooking and things, as you can tell both me and my o/h are complete novices!!!!
Thanks in advance for any tips :0)

Ive never seen anyone "tenting" at Bath - I have at other shows but not Bath, normally further into the summer - check with Higham Press if it is allowed. Always plenty of caravans and motorhomes.
There is no electric at Bath - so your friends would need a generator, there are toilets (portaloos) but no other facilities (except a large water tank) so again you would need to use your friends facilities in their motorhome.
I find that Bath is so unpredictable regarding weather - we have been there in the caravan field in torrential rain, storm force winds and bright sun!! But most people will tell you that it always rains at Bath!! lol
Personally I would hire a camper van or a caravan - the other factor is the dog noise at show caravan sites - at least in a vehicle you have some sound proofing!!
If you decide to tent it (and find out it is allowed) then good luck!!
