A friend has a Samoyed who's had a few problems lately , he's just about two weeks ago had his second hip replacement. Seemed to be recovering fine until yesterday when he couldn't keep water down , he was taken to the vets who suspected kennel cough and sent him home.

By 9 o'clock last night his stomach swelled up and was hard so she called the emergency vet and he was taken in for observation.
Today he has been x rayed and they can't see anything so are going to operate to see if there is a blockage , this morning he has had wee and a poo , and drank a little water and managed to keep it down but his stomach is still swollen.

Has anyone had a similar experience before with a good outcome , my friend is worried sick that she is going to lose him.

Just had an update , the vets found a piece of  washing up sponge!
I think the poor dogs been through enough this year , hopefully no more trips to the vets for him!

Glad the Vet managed to find what the problem was.  I'd have been worried about bloat with those symptoms.

Hope he recovers quickly :)
