Hi,
I have not had to have a breeders license so far because I have only breed 2 litters per year. However this year I will be breeding more and so I was wandering: how do I go about getting a breeders license? If anyone could help me with this I would apreciate it. I also was  wandering if I should get one or not. I also rescue dogs from the streets and abusive home and try to find them good, loving homes to go to. So if anyone has any suggestion please get back with me about this.

You need to get in touch with your local council, they have to approve you and issue a licence. If you have more than 4 litters a year you MUST apply for one.

Are you in the USA? Looking at your profile...........

If so the law may well be different. If you are also acting as a rescue this also needs to be declared. Along with declaring the litters to the tax office any excess earnings must legally be declared, if you don't do accounts yourself or know what to declare it may be advisable to have a financial advisor or accountant. :-)
