Hello there,
We've had our Border Terrier, Stan for 3 weeks now. He's gorgeous!
He has been getting rather a lot of hard-ons in the past couple of days. He's not humping the furniture or our legs and it doesn't worry me at all. I just wondered whether dogs do just get the horn a lot at certain times of the year (summer heat?) It just feels like a constant presence at the mo!
He's not been castrated.
The other thing is that when we go out for walks, other dogs always seem to be having a go at him. In a very non-playful way. Stan is always on the lead (we have a good garden for scampering) so it's easy to pull him away but I just wondered whether the fact that he's not castrated was firing other dogs up? Stan doesn't have a prob with them - he's just always getting targeted.
And lastly- what do you do when an off-lead dog comes up and attacks your dog with no owner present? We had a bad experience with a Staffy the other day and I felt quite alone. Owners who let their dogs loose like that really rile me!
Thanks,
Julie :)
