Evening,

just a quick question really, as the title suggests, can a nursing bitch have too much milk?  There are little puddles on the floor where she has been lying........ last litter I had, different bitch, we struggled to have enough milk. Puppies are 2 weeks old.

My large breed girl had 14 pups on her first litter and although all were suckling great and gaining weight lovely the milk was dripping out of her when she was walking around!!! Her boobs were absolutely huge and full constantly and whenever she lay down she would get up and her undercarriage and the floor would be soaked with milk. She got mastitis very badly and I ended up having to milk her between feeds. My other bitch didnt produce anywhere near enough milk for her 6 pups and I had to supplement. I cant seem to win!!!!
